Thermostatic steam traps work upon the principle of temperature differential. By
cooling the condensate a few degrees below saturated temperature,
we can differentiate between steam and condensate. The four different
designs in the marketplace that utilize thermostatic principles are bellows, bimetallic,
capsule, and liquid
expansion steam
traps.
